There are eight elegant bedrooms plus a two-bedroom suite, each named after an Old Town street and featuring work by local artists and designers. WHAT WE LOVE

The Rectory is owned by fashion and interior designer Lionel Copley, and his playful aesthetic is everywhere you look – from the fur-and-antlers statement throne in the drawing room to the secret loo hidden behind a bookcase in the opulent Crown honeymoon suite.

Make yourself at home why don’t you – sink into the slouchy sofas in the sprawling reception rooms or warm up by the open fire. There’s indulgent afternoon tea to be had, whether in the house or out in their stunning gardens, and a whole range of therapies on offer in the treatment rooms.
