Hunt for virtual Norman treasures around Downs Farm or Robsack in this free treasure hunt adventure for children.
Artist Kester Sheridan has created The Norman Quest, a web-based treasure hunt inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry.
You basically use a map on your smartphone to follow clues and walk to marked points around the neighbourhood. When you reach each spot, your phone reveals a virtual item to collect. You might find a shield or a Norman character, and each discovery comes with facts and questions about Norman history.
On the day, you will have a set time to collect as many items as possible. Then head back to the 18 Hours desk near your community centre to claim your prize.
There are two starting points:
- 11:30 am: Downs Farm Community Centre, Crowborough Road, Hastings TN35 5EE
- 2:30 pm: Robsack Centre, Bodiam Drive, Hastings TN38 9TW
It’s free and no booking is required. You will need a smartphone with internet access. Scan the event’s QR code or access the hunt here.
