This is the highlight of Old Town Carnival Week, when Hastings Old Town gets taken over completely. This year’s theme is 100 Years of Television, so expect plenty of familiar faces from the small screen.
Decorated floats, dancers, marching bands and local display groups wind their way through the heart of the Old Town, setting off from Rock-a-Nore at 5 pm and finishing with fireworks from the castle at dusk.
It’s free to watch – just find a spot along the route and settle in. Volunteers collect donations for local charities throughout the evening, so do bring a bit of cash if you can.
