TAI CHI WALKING
09 AUGUST 2026
Tai Chi began centuries ago as a martial art of self-defence and combat, but these days it’s mostly about what it does for the body and mind – harmonising both through movement.
The walking practice focuses on the slow, mindful shifting of weight, which improves proprioception (that’s body awareness) and builds real stability. It is genuinely useful for relieving stress, improving balance and strengthening muscles and joints, and it significantly lowers the risk of falls.
They meet by the war memorial in Alexandra Park at 9:30 am. There is no need to book, just turn up with £5 in cash on the day.
