Walk with a Ranger: Shingle, Strandline & Seals
05 NOVEMBER 2026
Explore Rye Harbour with Senior Ranger Dav Bridger on this gentle two-mile guided walk.
Dav will explain the reserve’s shingle habitat and the plants that grow there. You will also search the strandline and visit a bird hide to watch winter ducks and waders. There’s also a chance of spotting some seals in the River Rother – cute.
Meet at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre just before 10:30 am. Tickets are £17.70 or £15 for Sussex Wildlife Trust members.
Dress for the weather. Bring binoculars or borrow a pair on the day.
Accessibility: Most of the route and bird hides are wheelchair accessible. Some sections have loose or uneven surfaces, including time on the shingle shore. The Discovery Centre has step-free access and accessible toilets. Assistance dogs only.
