Stade Historic Fishing Quarter Walk
16 JULY 2026
There’s a lot more to the Stade than meets the eye, and this guided walk is the best way to see it. Led by friendly local volunteers who really know their stuff, it winds through the history of the town’s fishing quarter  – smuggling tales, fishing tragedies and all.
You will out what makes the town’s fishing unlike anywhere else, get up close to the boats on the beach (you might even see one come ashore), and clap eyes on those distinctive black net shops. No wonder they call the Stade a “living museum.”
Meet at 11 am at the Fishermen’s Museum. The walk lasts around 90 minutes on level but sometimes uneven ground (no steps), so sensible footwear is a good shout. Tickets are £4 per person and it’s all in aid of the OHPS Fishermen’s Museum.
