PIZZA & PLAYS: Chloë Lawrence-Taylor
18 SEPTEMBER 2026
A play about Hastings history and lore, followed by pizza and a Hidden Beach after party? Ooof – count us right in.
Spun Glass Theatre and Hastings Museum & Art Gallery have teamed up for Pizza & Plays, a new series bringing Hastings history to the stage at Stade Hall. Three writers have been given free rein to dig into the town’s folklore, then turn whatever grabs them into a brand-new short play. Each one gets just five days of rehearsal before it’s performed live.
First up is Chloë Lawrence-Taylor – a playwright whose work has already been seen at Hampstead Theatre. She has also worked with the Royal Court and is currently developing work with the National Theatre, alongside a new commission for Hampstead Theatre.
Doors open at 6 pm, with pizza (kindly provided by Sustenance) available before the play starts at 7.30 pm. After the performance, Remi Vibesman of Hidden Beach takes over from 8.30 pm for the after party.
Tickets are pay what you can at £5, £10 or £15, and include the play plus entry to the party. Pizza is available to buy separately. There’s also a £20 ticket covering all three Pizza & Plays events across the 2026 season.
