HASTINGS OLD TOWN CARNIVAL: Archaeology Open Day

If you like getting up close with the past, History House is hosting a free Archaeology Open Day, brought together by the SE Heritage Collective, and it’s a lovely chance to see how the stories of history can be told through the objects people leave behind.

It starts at 11 am and is suitable for all ages, so bring the whole family if you like. And since it’s part of Old Town Carnival Week, it makes a great addition to a day out in the Old Town.

Just one thing to note: access can be a little tight for wheelchairs, so do call ahead on 01424 424744 if you have any questions.

About Old Town Carnival Week

It’s one of the events for Old Town Carnival Week, running from Saturday 1st to Sunday 9th August. Started by volunteers all the way back in 1968, the carnival has grown into a beloved week of events for locals and visitors alike, with everything from pram racing and treasure trails to live music and street parties, all building up to the Grand Carnival Procession, and all supporting local charities along the way.
