Hastings Book Club

Nobody is checking if you finished the book and that’s the whole appeal – just turn up and let the book do the job of getting everyone talking.

August’s pick is Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton: guerrilla gardening that spirals into something much darker, secrets, shifting loyalties and a plot that keeps twisting.

They meet on the last Monday of the month at The Good Place from 6:30 pm. It’s free and there is no need to book. You can either join at the start of the month or join halfway through – regulars and first-timers get the same welcome.
