Celebration of LIVE!

Celebration of LIVE! is a local grassroots festival put together by Mike Willis (the guy behind the Mike’s List). It is essentially a huge celebration of the Hastings and St Leonards music scene, and it doubles as Mike’s 46th birthday bash.

It’s happening over two days at St. Leonard’s Church and Mike structured the two days to have completely different vibes, depending on what kind of night you’re after:

Saturday, 24 October (from 6 pm)

6 pm:  The Jumpsters  – a swaggering honky-tonk and jazz ensemble
7:30 pm: Mike Willis & the Get Em On Up Boys – special reunion of Mike’s old Whistle Trago party band
9:00 pm: African Headcharge – legendary “Outernational” dub-psych collective

Sunday, 25 October (from 4 pm)

4:30 pm: Ben Maier – local singer-songwriter playing with a stripped-back band
6 pm: Kid Kapichi –  these local lads play massive stages all over Europe
7:30 pm: Southern & Friends – Mike’s brand new project fusing Southern American roots with British styling

Tickets are on a sliding scale from £5 to £35 – there’s also a VIP option.
