Hastings Castle has stood above the town for nearly a thousand years now but its story reaches well beyond 1066. Castle keyholder Urs leads these bite-sized tours, connecting its recorded history with local folklore before bringing the story right up to the present.
You may also know Urs as the person carrying the giant during Jack in the Green. They are a qualified firefighter and forest school teacher too, which may explain their knack for keeping a group informed and thoroughly engaged.
Tours run at 1:30 pm and 3:30pm and last for about 45 mins. Tickets are £7.30 for adults and £5.80 for children aged 5-17 or Art Fund members, with booking fees included. Children aged five and under are listed as free.
Family tickets cost £13 for one adult with up to three children, or £22 for two adults with up to three children.
