The Before and After Vaults is bringing together activists and an investigative journalist for an evening looking at what resistance looks like when speaking out comes at a serious cost.
Finn Lau and Clara Cheung will talk about activism and exile from Hong Kong. Both are now based in the UK; Cheung is also an artist and former district councillor, while Lau continues to campaign on Hong Kong rights and freedoms.
Sudanese peace campaigner and filmmaker Mazin Urso joins the conversation, while Aaron Walawalkar from Liberty Investigates will share insights from his reporting into the way UK universities have responded to student protest.
It all takes place underground at the Before and After Vaults, the Observer Building’s new museum dedicated to modern activism from 7 pm to 9 pm.
